The Two Colors of Truth
The Two Colors of Truth
When what’s right may not be right
We’ve been quite wrong about what it means to be right for a long time! This is because we’ve all been using (or misusing) an 18th century brain to understand the 21st century world!
This course is about an important truth. What makes perfect rational sense may not be effective, and vice versa. That is, what seems to make a lot of sense from a rational standpoint may turn out to be rather nonsensical from a practical standpoint. This course explains what, how, and why.
In essence, if you want to be more effective in every aspect of your work and life, or if you want to build a more effective team or corporation of workers, this is a course for you!
Course overview
Ever wonder why oftentimes you may do everything right during planning and preparation and still get things wrong during implementation? Or why a marketing team can get all its marketing research and analyses done right and still fail to capture the consumers’ interest when the product is finally launched? The answer, according to the author of this book, is that there are at least two different types of rightness, two different colors of truth.
Specifically, what is rationally right may not be effectively right, and vice versa.
This course tells us what is the difference and hence how to be rational without compromising effectiveness. That is, what can we do (or avoid doing) in order to be effective in all our tasks and endeavors.
