We get what we expect

We get what we expect. Stated differently, what we expect is what we get.

In 2007, a team of researchers from Case Western Reserve University gave a group of participants a series of mentally exhausting tasks to perform. Before the task, the researchers told one of group of them that the time allocated is usually more than sufficient to complete the task (it was a lie), but told another group that the time allocated is usually insufficient to finish the task (it was also a lie).
